sneak peak

This is a color comp for an editorial for a woman's magazine. I am calling it One Coffee Cup. (it is my own assignment- I am building a editorial portfolio with my paper dolls.)

I came up with the idea the other day-- but I just heard a song just now (while working on it) that really inspired me to make it by Brendan James- The Fall.

The song reminds me so much of when I went to NY/GA last year and met-up with the guy I was dating long distance, after my trip was over we planed to see each other again in September. We aren't together anymore, but luckily we are still really good friends.

For me this illustration is of that waiting period of not knowing what will happen or if what you are doing is right.

I may need to re-draw the main girl, she feels too stiff... the sketch shouldn't look better than the final...
I love her hair...
These are some of the fabrics...

Have a happy day!

Red Nose Studio

Normally I don't pay attention to the junk mail on the table-- but this morning something caught my eye. Because I knew this guy, well his art. Red Nose Studio. But it is super fun for me to look at a magazine, a poster, a book, pamphlet...a whatever-- and know who did it! I was so excited that I took it, made some scans, then posted it to you fine people.

I am still so excited and pumped! I love, love, love this feeling- because I know if I keep working, keep going, keep creating one day someone will look on their kitchen table and get just as excited as I did, because they knew my work--even if it is just my mom :)

and then life happens

I haven't been blogging, in fact as far as illustration goes I haven't done much. I did my BFA show and then I started looking for a job. I felt guilty if I did otherwise (though I have a ton of sketches.) Well one month later and still no job, however I finally turned one of those sketches into something. I think I am starting to do better on my paper dolls. What do you think?

I found the dandelion in my yard and had to have it!

BFA show sneak-peak...maybe?

I just made this so
1) I am not sure if it is any good, and...
2) If I should do my BFA show all digital, I am running out of time and digital seems to be my safest bet right now...

anyway, not freaking out (just second guessing myself) check out the blog!
