P.S. It should let you know that I didn't "draw" these images, however they were given to me as value/ thumbs and I painted them up to create a mood. So thank my storyboard group for the fun ideas- oh but I can take the video tape idea.

I am a chracter designer for a film...

Not sure how many of you know but I am a character designer for a BYU animated short called, Estefan. Here are some of the designs. They are pretty different to what you are used to seeing me doing, but I think they are pretty fun. The top is a color script I just finished, the next below are some of the stylists we are thinking of, and the the sketches of the bald lady... well those are ideas of diffrent "hair styles" Estefan could give her. Enjoy

going digital...

So does it look traditional? I painted this up in Photoshop just now, going for a look that feels like didn't paint up on the computer. I even drew it on my tablet to see if I could get the same "ink" quality...I think it was a successful exercise. Have a happy day!

BFA blog and character design for BFA...

I had some free time today so I whipped this up in Photoshop; I love seeing that I am getting better! Anyway, this is what I am planning on my main character to look like for my BFA show, which the plan is late May. Fingers crossed. If you want to see the in-depth progressing of my BFA show, I am making a blog about it right now. It is still very much in the early works, but I will start to add things there that I don't here. (FYI my BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts) show for those that don't know, is the final show that I will have so I can graduate with a BFA and be able to make a strong portfolio. As well show people that tend to wonder about art as a career yes I am doing something with my life, and hey, I am pretty good too)

Editorial Work....

I recently did some editorial illustration's for a magazine called Stowaway. The top is an article about different museums around the world (not really an original image). The bottom (which is more successful) was about how we can be lost in translation when associating with other cultures. It was fun as always. I love editorial work.

First you start with a line...
Have you ever started an illustration, had to put it aside, and then came back to it a month later and wondered what you had been thinking? Well this was me yesterday, there are a few things I like, but I will be changing most of it.

For fun, I decided go through the step by step of a painting-lets see if it will turn out :)



I like the painting, but I will have to work on the type and placement still... Oh well, the end. At least for now. Have a happy day.

Finally I am getting somewhere with those lessons, this is my tribute to Lisbeth Zwerger. I am beginning to think that I will end up going more and more digital. It is just quicker, and I enjoy the colors more.

I love how the season changes what you draw! I love autumn, so much; beautiful colors, air so crisp you can bite into like an apple! Oh I love it, love it!
